KitchenTown Berlin – Where Culinary Innovation Meets Coworking
Tucked into the heart of Berlin, KitchenTown is not your typical coworking space. It’s a maker space and innovation hub dedicated entirely to food startups, giving entrepreneurs the facilities, mentorship, and network to bring new culinary products to life.
From idea to launch KitchenTown Berlin opened its doors in October 2019 and quickly became a go-to space for food innovators. The facilities include:
- Product development labs with industrial-grade kitchen equipment
- Small-batch production areas for scaling prototypes
- Coworking spaces with desks, meeting rooms, and office essentials
- A community kitchen for casual connection and idea exchange
Members range from early-stage startups developing their first recipes to established brands experimenting with new product lines. More than 100 companies have worked at KitchenTown since opening.
Memberships for every stage KitchenTown offers three main types of memberships:
- Product Development – access to labs and equipment for testing and prototyping
- Small Batch Production – for scaling up recipes into larger runs
- Coworking – desk space and community access
For those outside Berlin, the Community Membership offers access to workshops, pitches, and mentorship remotely, ensuring members can benefit from the network even without being on-site.
Community and collaboration Food is a natural connector, and KitchenTown makes it the core of its culture. Members regularly take part in taste panels, where startups present new products for feedback. Before the pandemic, members’ breakfasts were a popular fixture, fostering collaboration over coffee and fresh produce.
The team also partners with service providers, retailers, and institutions to support members with resources beyond the kitchen — from branding help to retail introductions.
Part of a global network KitchenTown Berlin is closely connected with its San Francisco counterpart, allowing members to tap into a broader international community of food innovators.
In short, KitchenTown Berlin blends the best of coworking, kitchen incubation, and community building — all tailored to those passionate about shaping the future of food.
