Dinamo10 – A Creative Hub in Portugal’s North Coast
In the coastal city of Viana do Castelo, Portugal, Dinamo10 has spent more than a decade redefining coworking. Founded by architect Joana, the space opened in 2011 — before coworking was a common concept in the region.
From the start, Dinamo10 positioned itself as a creative hub rather than a traditional coworking space. The focus has always been on people and projects, not just desks. The business model isn’t based on memberships alone — instead, Dinamo10 develops projects with community members through three main pillars:
- Residencies – welcoming creative professionals to work and collaborate in Viana.
- Creative Services – working like a boutique agency, producing design, architecture, and communication projects.
- Mentoring Programs – connecting young entrepreneurs and students with experienced members of the community for guidance and feedback.
The community is a mix of architects, designers, engineers, programmers, marketers, and artists — plus an extended network of local citizens and partners who take part in exhibitions, public initiatives, and monthly gatherings.
Events go beyond the walls of the workspace. Dinamo10 regularly hosts citizen participation projects that bring together entrepreneurs, municipalities, and residents to find solutions for local challenges. They also maintain a gallery wall to showcase community work and invite artists for exhibitions.
Located near Portugal’s Atlantic coast, with easy access to mountains and nature, Dinamo10 offers a unique lifestyle for members. Even during challenging times, such as lockdowns, the space stayed open in a safe, coordinated way so members could continue working and connecting.
